He observed that shortage of space for graves is a major problem which will be addressed in most of the cities of Punjab. Meanwhile, the Minister took notice of complaints regarding Darbar Bibi Pakdaman and other shrines of Lahore; and gave instructions to take immediately action. He also directed the officials to remove all encroachments around Bibi Pakdaman Mazar.
Moreover, he directed that foolproof security at Data Darbar should be ensured and parking stands outside the shrine should be regularized, and dumping sites should also be removed which will provide extra land for construction of a park in front of the Data Darbar.
The minister also gave an instruction to improve the standard around Darbar Mian Mir and Shah Jamal shrines and added that the Punjab Auqaf Department should prepare a strategy in this regard. Punjab Auqaf Secretary Zulifqar Ghuman told the Senior Minister that security and other affairs pertaining to shrines are being computerized.
